It’s been a while, quite a while since I dedicated a post to travel. The reasons are obvious as the pandemic effected our lives for too long and in Ireland it meant for longer spells than anticipated. We’ve seen 2km lockdowns, 5km restrictions, even cross-county travel was at some point not allowed. (Note: this meant I couldn’t even leave Dublin to get to Wicklow)
Bar some exceptions, everything in life is temporary and so were those said restrictions, too. As the country got back on their feet, options to move from your doorstep, expanded again, too. A relieve.
Expect two updates on here next: (1) life during 2.5 years of pandemic restrictions and despite some tough times, the wonderful opportunities found near my doorstep. (2) life post pandemic restrictions and as a result back on the road, across the globe again. 2022 was still not what travel life was pre-covid but – hand in hand with a lot of gratitude – our option pool kept expanding. Life is good. It’s not perfect, it’s not always the way we envision(ed) it first but wait for it, a few months from now (sometimes a year or two) it will all make sense. Embrace the good and the crazy part of your journey; and remember it is YOUR journey. Only you are in charge. 2023….YES we’re in and we’re going on adventures!
